A Very special Day at Osbaston

Year 6 pupils at Osbaston Church In Wales school experienced a special celebration at St Mary’s Church in Monmouth as two class members were joined in matrimony at a ‘mock’ wedding service. The class had been studying forms of worship and celebrations within the Christian faith and chose to focus on weddings as a major theme. Children designed invitations, rewrote wedding vows and shared personal experiences of attending weddings.
The wedding of Henry and Lindsay was a great success with everyone having a part to play in the service. Everyone enjoyed fulfilling their roles and responsibilities and learning more about Christian marriage. After the service the class members returned to school for a wedding reception, which included a delicious wedding cake!
It was a wonderful occasion and provided an enriching experience both for the children’s learning and for the adults involved.
