Aberbargoed ablaze in Advent

It was a cold, dark November night, but Aberbargoed was ablaze with light and laughter. The procession left Aberbargoed Primary School led by Solitaire jazz band festively attired, with children carrying lighted lanterns, members of church dressed as characters from Narnia, and our new Archdeacon in attendance.
What a wonderful sight! It was almost as if the Pied Piper was attracting the whole village. On arrival at St Peter's everyone gathered around the newly planted tree where it was duly lit to 'ooh's and aah's'. Before the singing of carols, the Archdeacon was introduced and he gave us his message for Christmas. The evening ended with hot chocolate, soup and rolls served in the by now very welcoming warm church, along with Turkish delight (Edmund’s favourite) while the film "Prince Caspian" was shown.
