The Revd Canon Ray Summers retired at the end of September. Ray has been Team Rector of Mynyddislwyn and was Area Dean of Bedwellty for twelve years.

A service of Thanksgiving for his ministry was held at St Tudor’s church, Mynyddislwyn. Congregations from all the churches in the benefice were joined by Bishop Dominic, Mr Don Touhig MP, the present Area Dean of Bedwellty, and the local branch of the British Legion.

Ray and his wife Pamela have moved to Pontymister where we wish them a happy and active retirement.
