Tredunnoc lets its hair down
The parish of Tredunnoc in the Llangybi group may be small, but it’s remarkably lively.
Among the highlights of an already busy year was a ‘Village Day’ held on Saturday 19th July, which began with a quarter peal rung on the church bells by a team visiting from Banbury in Oxfordshire, and continued with a number of people throwing their gardens open to the public.
Although the day began overcast, the weather improved enough for the outdoor evening event to go ahead – ‘Cool Jazz for a Warm Summer’s evening’, hosted by Zo and Alison Itani in Tredunnoc House (the former Rectory). The music was provided by ‘Lounging About’, fresh from a series of very successful gigs, not least at the Raglan Festival.
Thanks to a great deal of hard work and generosity on the part of everybody involved, the day raised over £1500 for the Church Roof Fund – but equally importantly provided an opportunity for the whole village to get together and enjoy themselves hugely.
