Celebrating Marriage
at St Andrew’s Church, Lliswerry
All those couples wed at St Andrew’s Church since Fr Philip Musindi became incumbent of Lliswerry Parish in 2001 were invited back to a celebration service.

Fr Philip opened the Service by telling funny stories about husbands and wives which broke the ice and aroused gales of laughter from the congregation. He then blessed all the couples who reaffirmed their marriage vows. After short prayers of thanksgiving, the congregation went into the Hall where there was a buffet laid out by the ladies of the parish.
There was also professional live entertainment by Rod Neate. The song ‘Welcome to my World’ was the perfect start to the evening’s entertainment: not only was its title most suitable, but some of the lyrics are taken from the Gospel of Matthew: ‘Knock, and it shall be opened, ask and you shall be given.’
Next year, couples will be invited back to a Lliswerry Parish church again, to share in one another’s wedding photos and their entries in the registers, as well as sharing their joys in their growing families and their strengthening care for and pride in the love of their partners.
