Celebrating music in Peterborough

For Abergavenny’s St Mary’s Priory Church choir, it was a week to remember. Eighteen trebles, from primary school age to A-level students, were joined by ten basses, tenors, altos and sopranos to sing five anthems, two sets of responses and five psalms during their time at the magnificent cathedral of Peterborough.

Musical director Tim Pratt was delighted with their offering and hard work. “A Singing Week provides a wonderful opportunity for the choir to get away and experience concentrated practice and singing. It was a very intense week, but well worth the effort, with some terrific singing,” he said.

But it wasn’t all practice or performance – the choir also had time for fun, including a visit to an Adventure playground.
