Introduction

The diocesan newsletter aims to celebrate all our diocesan life, with emphasis on the many and varied doings of the ‘people in the pews’, and the editor tries hard not to include too many pictures of the bishop (though that’s difficult to avoid when he tends to be at every confirmation!)

But this issue is different!

With the Petertide ordination of priests and deacons, the installation of two Archdeacons, an investiture at Buckingham Palace and the visit of four overseas bishops and their wives, this issue has a vista of vestments and a cornucopia of clerical collars.

Even the children are getting in on the act, with one trying out ‘woman bishop’ as a career option.
