Licensing of Lay Eucharistic Ministers

At the Annual Service held at St Teilo's parish church Newport on June 4th, the Bishop licensed: Dr Andrew Padfield (Usk); Michael Jarman (Llanfrecha); Rhys Hankins (Blackwood); Sally Tyler (Gosmont); Glenys Dyer, Gaynor James and Elizabeth Thomas (Fleur de lis); Janet Pain and Liz Craig (Tintern).

Mr Ken Jacobs (Llanfrecha) was licensed on the following Sunday in Llanfrechfa.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers exercise an increasing role in parishes throughout the Diocese, both pastorally and liturgically. The initial training scheme is currently under review as the extent of this lay ministry is assessed. The Autumn Training will start on October 10th and the Quiet Day for LEM'S will be on Saturday November 8th at St Mary's Priory Church and Centre, Abergavenny.
