Cathedrals, choirs, and places where they sing

Friends of Cathedral Music (FCM)

Do you worship at or visit a Cathedral during the year? If the answer is “Yes”, then I am sure that you will enjoy the contribution made to the service by the Cathedral choir. FCM exists to safeguard our priceless heritage of cathedral music and to support a living tradition. Increasing public awareness and appreciation of cathedral music, encouraging high standards and raising money for choirs in need are the other main purposes of the FCM’s work.

Membership of the FCM will support the work of choirs and organists, maintaining this wonderful inheritance. The great music sung in our cathedrals is part of the nation’s cultural heritage; without music, the stones have no voice.

Benefits of membership include a welcome pack, twice-yearly magazine, twice-yearly newsletter, a free guide to cathedral services and festivals and the opportunity to attend local and national events. Membership is only £10 a year but the subscription is not fixed and new members who pay £25 receive a full-length CD of cathedral music.
