Life and Romance in Caldicot!
Over a thousand youngsters learned of the life, miracles, and the teaching of Jesus when they visited The Life Exhibition in Caldicot Methodist Church in January.
Organised by Churches Together in Caldicot, this exhibition is primarily for young people, and we were so pleased that every school in the area agreed to come.
Each section of the exhibition was manned by volunteers from all the participating churches, there to answer any questions posed by the visitors. With the use of hand-held computers, the young people recorded their answers to questions and were given a printed copy of their personal responses, opinions and reflections of the exhibition.
There was romance in the air on St Valentine's Day when the Caldicot Benefice held a service at St Mary’s Church, Caldicot, for the renewal of marriage vows.
Over twenty married couples, including the clergy and their wives, came to acknowledge the promises they had made on their wedding days and to be prayed for and be blessed by God. Fr Lyndon and Fr Dennis officiated, Fr Will preached an excellent sermon about the symbolism of the wedding ring and the importance of Holy Matrimony. For some couples who, because of circumstances, had a civil service for their weddings, the blessing in church fulfilled a dream.
