Bishop David Bannerman of the Diocese of the Highveld and his wife Joan visited the diocese at the end of June. Here Bishop David is with Bishop Dominic after the ordination serive in the morning of 26th June.
On St David's day, the Bishop licensed Mr Tim Russen as the new Diocesan Registrar following the retirement of Mr Nigel Williams. Tim and his wife Lesley worship at St Mary's, Monmouth.
International students who were unable to return to their homelands for Christmas were entertained to lunch on Christmas Day by the University Chaplain Fr Mark Soady.
The meal was supported by Newport Uskmouth Rotary and All Saints Church, Newport.

Street Pastors launched in Newport
12 Street Pastors were commissioned by the Bishop on 1st August before beginning their first night on the city streets. They were joined by two of the original street pastors from London. With them after the service are Margaret Smith of Newport Churches Together and Police Sergeant Bernie Dawson who has helped with their training. Gwent Police report

Raglan and Usk Deanery greeted Easter at the top of the Blorenge Mountain. More than 120 people including nine clergy (not to mention twelve dogs) met to celebrate Easter as dawn broke, bright and still on the top of the Blorenge.
After sharing the bread and wine they shared hot coffee and breakfast together.

The Bishop drew the crowds in Lent
At least 800 people gathered in five venues across the diocese to hear the Bishop talk about St John’s Message for Today - on some evenings it was standing room only!

YES is 5!
The Youth Eucharistic Service celebrated its fifth birthday with a vibrant service in Newport Cathedral on 22nd February

The Bishop has awarded the Order of St Woolos to four lay people in recognition of the outstanding service they have given to the Diocese. The award was given during Evensong in the Cathedral on Sunday, 11th January.
