Duke of Gloucester admiring flower arrangements“I pray that this festival through its beauty will bring joy to those who view it”, said HRH The Duke of Gloucester, Newport Cathedral’s Royal Patron when he opened the Cathedral’s Flower Festival on 27th November.

“It is good to see so many people supporting this Flower Festival – and thereby ensuring that this ancient cathedral is restored for generations to come”, said HRH after viewing the flower arrangements including one dedicated to his wife and himself.

The Duke left the Cathedral after a longer than intended visit having asked many penetrating questions to the Cathedral Architect Michael Davies of Davies Sutton and John Sexton, the Rescue Appeal’s Coordinator.
