Diocesan Secretary Appointed
The Bishop has announced the appointment of Ms Stella Schultz as Diocesan Secretary to succeed Mr Richard Tarran who is retiring.
The Bishop writes:
I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Stella Schultz, currently Diocesan Secretary of the Diocese of Bangor, as our new Diocesan Secretary. She is likely to take up her appointment in April when Richard Tarran retires and we have planned for there to be a short ‘overlap’ period.
Stella was born in Newport and is a graduate (B.Sc Hons) of the London School of Economics. Prior to her appointment as Diocesan Secretary in Bangor in 1999, she was Head of Information Management for the Countryside Council of Wales and is trained in IT, systems and business analysis and financial management and control. As someone who is already a Diocesan Secretary, she has a wide knowledge of the Church in Wales, charity law and the challenges and opportunities for the Church today. She is a Welsh speaker.
Stella feels a strong sense of vocation as a Diocesan Secretary and I shall look forward to welcoming her as a member of my staff team and to her contribution in serving the ministry and mission of the diocese.
I would like to express my thanks for all who have been involved in the recruitment and appointment process, particularly Mr Sandy Blair CBE, the chairman of the Diocesan Board of Finance and Mrs Karen Phillips, the Director of Human Resources and the members of the interview panels.
Please pray for Stella as she prepares to take up this new and important role in the life of the Diocese.
+Dominic
