YES at St Michael’s Abertillery - it’s nearly here!!

The next YES takes place on Sunday 28th September 2008 at St Michael’s Abertillery.  The service starts at 6.00 pm and the doors are open from 5.30pm.

We’ve had a great time over the last 2 Saturdays rehearsing the music for this YES, and the enthusiasm and energy of the young people of Monmouth Diocese has been a joy to behold.  Every parish that has young people taking part should be very, very proud of what this talented group of singers and instrumentalists has put together.  Please do turn up and support them on 28th.

For those taking part in the service, here are the details of the rehearsals this coming weekend.

Saturday 27th - music rehearsal at St Michael’s Abertillery from 3-45pm to 6-00pm.  Please arrive in good time so we can get everyone seated and start promptly.  Attached is a map with directions to St Michael’s, and the nearest parking.  Please bring a music stand if you have one - we now have so many musicians that we’re running short of stands!

Sunday 28th - drama rehearsal (again at St Michael’s) starting at 2.30pm.  Again please arrive early as we need to give Jenny time to work with everyone to repeat the magnificent performance from the residential course.  The final music run through will follow the drama rehearsal, please be ready to start at 3-45pm.  Don’t forget to wear your YES shirt and black trousers.

See you Satuday, and remember

God is good - all the time!

and

All the time - God is good!

Mike

PS - here’s just one of the photos from the recent YES residential course.  This was actually the end-of-course line-up, following the closing act of worship at St Mary’s Bute Street, Cardiff.

YES rehearsal 13th September 2008

The first rehearsal for the next YES takes place on Saturday 13th September, starting at 3-45pm and finishing at 6.00 pm.

The rehearsal takes place at SS Julius and Aaron church hall, Newport.  See attached map for directions (and how to get around the current plague of road works in the area)

The YES service takes place on Sunday 28th September at 6pm in St Michael’s Abertillery, and promises to be awesome in the extreme.  We’re using lots of the material from the YES residential course, and taking it to the next level!  Come and see what the young people of the Diocese can do!!

christmas plays…

In planning for the next YES, we’ve been looking around for some good scripts for Christmas plays. We can definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a selection of longer, more involved plays as well as some other liturgical material.

Just please hold off using “the Shepherd’s Play” until we’ve had a chance on December 9th…
