The Bishop's invitation:
St Luke wrote more of the New Testament than any other writer – he wrote the Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles. He was a Gentile and a physician who believed that salvation is a gift for everyone. His Gospel alone contains such wonderful stories as the parable of the prodigal son and the Canticles much loved by Anglicans. Luke was a great story writer who engaged his audience, and I hope that I can engage you as I try to relate those stories to our Christian lives today.
