Vocations
Traditionally, talk of vocations in the context of the Church would usually have referred to a calling to the sacred, or ordained, ministry - that of deacon, priest or bishop.
Of late it has become recognised that in fact the Church exercises its ministry through countless different channels, of which the ordained ministry is but one. Increasingly people are responding to God's call to serve through his Church in a wide variety of ways, some of which will be publicly authorised and acknowledged by means of the bishop's licensing, and some of which will be informal, unsung examples of the ways in which Christians live out their responsibilities to proclaim God's love through word and action.
The Church in Wales has published leaflets in pdf format which give more information on ministry in our Dioceses. Links to them can be found on the left of the page.
We'd also encourage you to visit the Vocation Wales website.
