GRANTS

Normally, the routine maintenance of a church building is the proper responsibility of the parish itself. But there are obviously occasions when outside help is needed – not only advice but also financial assistance.

GrantNet is a service which offers good, sound advice when contemplating maintaining, refurbishing, reordering and possibly extending your church. It operates a comprehensive database of grants, funding and awards from over 8,000 potential sources. It is operated by an external company called GrantFinder.

To look for help on a particular topic, use the links on the left. For a more general search, use the GrantNet service direct.

Your search will automatically be reported to a contact in the Diocesan Office.

Before considering any work on your church or churchyard you should consult your archdeacon, who may steer you towards help available under the Venturing in Mission initiative. When exploring this avenue, please bear in mind that there are two application forms for grants under the Venturing in Mission initiative: one is concerned with church buildings and the other with projects which do not normally involve the buildings themselves.

For further advice on planning or managing your project please contact the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) Secretary.

Don’t forget that any proposal for repairs or modifications in churches or churchyards requires a faculty: further information is available on the DAC page.
