St David’s Diocesan Council for Social Responsibility

Succeeding its predecessor body, the Moral Welfare Committee, the charity's governing constitution requires its activities to be general moral welfare work in the Diocese of St David’s. Prior to local government reform its work was in the field of adoption.
Now, and for many years past, its main focus is community development, principally achieved through its major project Plant Dewi.
- A part time Social Responsibility Officer was appointed in 1993 through whom the following examples of its work has been or is undertaken:
- A social housing project in partnership with Gwalia housing group at Bigyn, Park Tce, Llanelli
- The St Paul’s Family Centre Project at Llanelli
- A second social housing project at St Peter's Church Llanelli
- Credit Union development with The Wales Co-operative Centre
- A family centre at Penparcau, Aberystwyth in partnership with The Catholic Children's Society, and Ceredigion CC
- In partnership with The Samaritans, The Welsh Office and Local Authorities, card information schemes in response to concerns around rural suicide
- The United Nations "Year of the Family" project
- Dyfed victim support
- Carmarthen CC's supporting people project
- DCSR sub groups contributed to the work of The Warnock Commission
- The Carmarthen Night Stop Project
- Representing faith communities in Emergency Planning in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion
- Supporting Church in Wales Provincial Social Responsibility/Church and Society
- Fair Trade
