Cookies

A cookie is a text file stored on your computer.

The Church in Wales uses cookies to monitor the English/Welsh language preference of our users and remember your shopping basket between browsing sessions on our online shop.

We do not employ cookies for any other purpose and cookies are not used to obtain personal data from your computer or to gather personal information about you. We do not send cookies to any third party.

Managing Cookies

You can manage how your browser handles cookies. We’ve provided some information below. If this doesn’t help, try a Google Search for “managing cookies”. Please note our disclaimer for information about third party websites.

INTERNET EXPLORER 8+

To disable cookies:

  1. Go to ‘Tools’ in the menu bar which should drop down then click on ‘Internet Options’
  2. Click on ‘Privacy’ Tab on top
  3. Click on ‘Sites’ a new window should open called ‘Per Site Privacy Actions’
  4. Type in the URL of the site you wish to allow or block cookie in th ‘Address of website’ box

To delete cookies in Internet Explorer 9

  1. Go to ‘Tools’ in the menu bar which should drop down then click on ‘Internet Options’
  2. Click on ‘General’ tab which should be under ‘Browsing History’ and click ‘Delete’

To delete cookies in Internet Explorer 8

  1. Go to ‘Tools’ in the menu bar which should drop down then click on ‘Internet Options’
  2. Click on ‘Privacy’ Tab on top
  3. Click on ‘Sites’ a new window should open called ‘Per Site Privacy Actions’
  4. Under the “Managed websites’ box should be a list of all the webistes you have visited.
  5. To remove all cookies simply click on the “Remove all” button.

FIREFOX 2+

To disable cookies:

  1. Go to ‘Tools’ in the menu bar
  2. Click on ‘Options’
  3. Click on ‘Privacy Tab’
  4. Disable the box that says ‘Accept Cookies From sites’

To clear existing cookies:

  1. Go to ‘Tools’ in the menu bar
  2. Click on ‘Options’
  3. Click on ‘Privacy Tab’
  4. Click on “Clear Now”
  5. Select “Cookies”
  6. Click on “Clear Private Data Now”

GOOGLE CHROME

To disable cookies:

  1. Go to ‘Tools Menu’
  2. Click on ‘Options’
  3. Click on ‘Under the Hood’
  4. ‘Cookie Setting’ should be selected. Once done select ‘Block all Cookies’
  5. Now all cookies should be blocked on your Google Chrome

To clear exisiting cookies:

  1. Go to ‘Tools Menu’
  2. Click on ‘Options’
  3. Click on ‘Under the Hood’
  4. Under ‘Privacy’ section select “Show Cookies’
  5. A new window should open called ‘Cookies’ In here you can see all the cookies within your Google Chrome Browser.
  6. Click on “Remove All” to remove all traces of cookies
  7. If you wish to only remove a certain cookie, simply highlight and click “Remove”

SAFARI

To disable cookies:

  1. Go to the Safari Menu, click ‘About’, to determine which version of Safari you are using.
  2. From the Safari Menu, click on ‘Preferences.
  3. Once in the Safari preference window, click ‘Privacy’.
  4. Set your preferences for accepting cookies next to ‘Block Cookies’.
  5. Select ‘Parties and Advertisers’ – ‘Always’ or ‘Never’.
  6. If there are any website data/cookies being stored, click ‘Details’.
  7. If you wish to remove the data, highlight the information and click ‘Remove’.
  8. If you wish to remove the data from all the sites, simply click ‘Remove All’.
  9. Now you are finished, click ‘Done’ to return to the preference window.
