Founded 44oAD.9th century Ichthus Stone . 15th century window.
Founded by the patron saint of Ireland - St. Patrick who was shipwrecked on the island which the church overlooks.
The building stands on the site of one of Anglesey's first churches. On the west wall is an old stone, believed to be a 9th century Ichthus stone bearing the symbol of a fish - an early Christian identifying mark. In 1884, the then Lord Stanley of Alderley, a Muslim by faith, was responsible for its restoration - hence it contains features of that religion.
On 1st June 1985 the church was badly damaged by fire but reopened for services on the 24 May 1987 after restoration work costing £15,000.
