Built on a rocky island in the Menai Strait.
A causeway leads to the rocky island of Ynys Tysilio in the Menai Strait on which the 15th century building stands. It was founded by Saint Tysilio, in the 7th century (c. 630AD). Extensively refurbished internally and externally during the early 1890's.
The door is unusual as it is rectangular but set into a pointed doorway. The roof has three mediaeval trusses with curved collar-beams. The east window, rebuilt in 1896, reproduces the early 15th century original of which the moulded label remains. The gable coping and remains of a cross socket (east end) are original 15th century. The octagonal font has been dated to the 14th century.
