An avenue of yew trees leads from the churchyard to the porch of this cruciform estate church. It was restored in 1853 by Henry Kennedy at the expense of Edward Douglas-Pennant, 1st. Baron of Penrhyn. An earlier church, claimed to be of 6th century origin, is said to have stood nearby.
It houses an unusual organ gallery with a neo-Norman cased organ which was originally made for the chapel at Penrhyn Castle. There is an interesting 15th century alabaster tomb, thought to be that of the 1st. or 2nd. Sir William Griffith of Penrhyn and his wife, together with many interesting memorials and tablets, in slate and marble, adorning the walls of the nave and chancel.
