The church was opened on Whit Sunday 1869 as a chapel of ease to the mother church of Llandygái. It was built by Mr Parry of Menai Bridge on land donated by the Lord Penrhyn. Services had been held in the church hall for some years before it was decided to build a church. The church has several stained glass windows including a fine east window in memory of the Lord Penrhyn. A mosaic covers the east wall around the altar.
