12th century parish church.
Beautiful east window.
Dedicated to the saint Cadwaladr 'the blessed.'
The Catamanus stone.
The original church was late 12/13th century with an extension in the 14th century. The north chapel was built 1640 and rebuilt in 1807 and again later in the 19th century. The south chapel is 1661, and the chancel, nave and south porch have been rebuilt in modern times. The saint may well have been a prince of the royal house of Gwynedd, who died in AD664, and from whom the Tudor dynasty claim to be descendants.
A stone dating from c AD625 records, in Latin, that Cadfan (Cadwaladr's grandfather), was the 'wisest and most renowned of all kings.'
