6th century inscribed stone.
The oldest part of the present church probably dates from the 14th century but tradition, and the 6th century inscribed stone (it is said that there are only seven in the UK) found in the church, suggests that an earlier church existed on the site. By 1834 the church was in complete disrepair. During 1888 the church was partly rebuilt and re-roofed. It was attached to Criccieth parish in the 15th century.
