The site of the shrine of Gwynhoedl which became a popular halt on the Pilgrims' Way to Bardsey Island. The Church stands alone by a stream in a dingle. It has a nave and two aisles of equal width, the north side with an arcade bears two Latin inscriptions 'HEC EDES EDIFICATA EST IN ANNO DNT IHRO' and 'S GWYNHOEDL IACET HIC' informing us that the north aisle was built in 1520 and that St Gwynhoedl is buried here. In 1850 the church was renovated under the directions of Henry Kennedy, resulting in the removal of the old chancel screen (possibly due to the Oxford Movement influence). Further renovations took place in 1940, 1963 and 1994.
