Thought to go back to the 14th century this is a very delightful small church. Hanging above the entrance to the porch is a curious 'bone' which is said to be a rib and patella from a prehistoric animal dug up from under the church during the 18th century.
The date above the porch is 1641 but the slatted wooden tower dates from 1611 and carries three bells, dated 1642, 1685 and 1738. It is one of the few churches to have dormer windows which have been built at different heights. A gallery was built in the nave during 1764.
Inside, in the west, are tiered pews, whilst on the north wall is a memorial to one of the rectors of the parish, Dr. John Davies, who, in 1620, was responsible for much of the work on the revised translation of the Bible into Welsh. His grave is on the south side of the chancel.
