Church registers date from 1625.
The present church was built in 1863 and is rectangular in plan with a wide nave and narrow chancel. The belfry and tower are constructed of enormous old oak timbers which came from the earlier church that was originally a school. It has a pyramid pitched slate roof with the lower tower being lead clad.
The west wall originally contained a circular window, but when the wall was rebuilt, as can be seen by the different construction to the main church, a lancet window was introduced. In 1970 the church was renovated.
