Designed by Poundley and Walker the church was built on an ancient site. The first restoration took place in 1909 followed by further work during 1957. About 1980 the top section of the spire became unsafe and was removed. There are three bells dated 1665, 1666 and 1667. The church has a list of all the vicars dating from 1530. An ancient stone depicting a primitive Celtic Cross is clamped to the south wall of the church.
