Early English arcade. Beautiful hammer beam roof. Pillars and arches from Abbey Cwm-hir.
Originally Llanidloes was a daughter church of Llandinam, a Celtic monastery which had an Abbot up to the 12th century. Early English arcade and a beautiful hammer beam roof. The tower, built between 1350 and 1440, is the usual Montgomery type - square and massive. The church was largely rebuilt in 1542 to accommodate the pillars and arches from Abbey Cwm-hir. In 1882 the church was restored under G. E. Street, the Victorian architect. A new stained glass window was installed in 2000 to mark the millennium.
