Llangurig Church is a country church associated with the Cistercians at both Abbey Cwm-hir and Strata Florida. The Bishop of Bangor reported in 1559 that he only had two men in his diocese fit to preach - the Dean of Bangor and the Vicar of Llangurig. The church was partially rebuilt in 1878 by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
