Situated on the Great Orme, it is Celtic in origin and was probably built in wood. Rebuilt in the 12th century in stone. North wall - 11th or 12th century. South wall - 15th century, when the church was widened and a chancel added. West wall - 15th century. On either side of the east window are painted tablets with the Lord's Prayer, the Creed and the Ten Commandments in Welsh. A wood carving - the 'Stigmata' can be found on the second roof cross-tie from the east.
A great storm in 1839 damaged the roof and it was left to deteriorate for the next 15 years, when in 1855 following an appeal for £100, restoration started and it was reopened later that year.
