Built in the 14th century. Contains the effigy of Gruffydd ap Dafydd Goch.
Built in the 14th century on the site of a 6th century 'bede house.' Rebuilt and extended in 1843, it was still too small to cope with the influx of tourists in the 1870's and was replaced by the larger St. Mary's Church. The church is therefore largely as it was after the 1843 rebuilding, with no electricity. Candles are used for lighting.
St. Michael's Church is now leased to the St. Michael's Betws-y-coed Trust, a registered charity, who, through the Friends of St. Michael's are raising money to preserve the building and develop it as a heritage attraction.
