Revd Lynette Norman and Bishop Gregory

Bishop Commissions new Priest-Guardian of St Melangell

The Revd Lynette Norman has been formally commissioned as Priest-Guardian of the Shrine Church of St Melangell, Pennant Melangell.

On Sunday 10 July Bishop Gregory commissioned Lynette before dedicating sacred items with special association to the Shrine Church.

He blessed a new icon depicting St Melangell, which had been painted by Monica Thornton as well as a chalice and a paten, the gift of a former Guardian of the Shrine, the Revd Evelyn Davies.

Lynette said:

“What a wonderful day, a special service, a lovely blessing and start to my ministry here as Shrine Guardian – a huge thanks to all who shared in it.

“I used to volunteer at the Shrine and I have to pinch myself now that I am actually here.”

You can see more photographs from the occasion on our Flickr site.
