Deeside College gets its own Chaplaincy

Bishop Gregory with the Chaplains

Deeside College now boasts its very own Chaplaincy Team which is available for students at the main campus on Kelsterton Road.

It’s being organised by the Church in Wales and the Methodist Church and was officially launched on Wednesday 11 May by the Bishop of St Asaph.

The team will be on hand to talk to students about everything from faith and relationships, to work and study. They started work after the Easter break.

Revd Martin Batchelor, Vicar of Bistre is heading up the team and will be joined by Under 25’s Officer Tim Feak, Revd Sally Baird and Alexier Mayes who will be ordained in the summer. Completing the team are Revd Rosemarie Clark and Revd Robin Fox from the Methodist Church.

Martin said:

“This is an opportunity for the church to work in partnership with Deeside College for the benefit of all involved in the life of the college. This joint initiative has already been welcomed warmly”.

Deeside College Student Services Manager, Karen Senior said:

“Deeside College is committed to providing its learners with access to a broad range of services that may help them get on in both their studies and also in their everyday life. I am confident that the Chaplaincy Team will prove to be a valuable addition to those options already provided.”

The team is available Monday to Thursday in term time at the main Deeside College site. Students can also contact the team by email on chaplaincy@deeside.ac.uk
