COmmunion Wafers from South West Tanganyika

The Diocese of St Asaph is delighted to be able to offer your Parish a superb deal on Communion Wafers thanks to our partnership with the Diocese of South West Tanganyika.

Each individual bag contains 300 congregation wafers and costs £4.50. You can buy two bags for £8.00 or three for just £10.00 – that works out at less than £3.50 a bag!

We can also provide Priests wafers. Each bag contains 50 wafers for just £4.50 and again you can benefit from two bags for £8.00.

£2.50 will be added to each order to cover postage and packaging costs.

Why buy here?

Buying your Tanzanian Communion Wafers will help to support the work of our linked Diocese in South West Tanganyika.

The wafers are all handmade by the Nuns who sell them as a way of increasing their income for their other ministries. If you buy their wafers, you will actually be supporting their work in nurseries, health clinics and farming.

Bishop Stephen Lowe chairs the South West Tanganyika Association and said:

“This is all part of their economic self-sufficiency and when Sister Aneth comes to visit us in October we can hear first-hand how the Nuns work.”

Bishop Stephen is encouraging every Parish in the Diocese to buy their communion wafers from South West Tanganyika and added with a smile:

“Any parish we visit who’s not using them will be in trouble! As you can see, I believe in it!”

The Priests wafers are 67mm in diameter (2 ½ inches) and the Congregation wafers are 30mm (1 ¼ inches).
