VISITING AND BEFRIENDING
Many parishes now have varieties of pastoral care teams, as well as the important day to day visiting that so many people faithfully do as disciples and good neighbours.
These teams exercise a ministry of visiting and befriending in the name of the church - in other words, the visitors have been explicitly asked to make that visit. In these cases there are responsibilities to ensure that the visitor is properly equipped for the task and properly supported.
