stewardship and resources

The cost of keeping a parish and its churches open and running can be surprisingly high. In a time when financial resources are increasingly stretched and the church's membership base is less strong than once it was, it can be difficult for some parishes to meet their financial obligations.
However, once we begin to recognise that our giving to God through his Church is a spiritual matter rather than a duty, a different perspective comes into play.
Our Diocesan Advisor can help parishes come to a new understanding about Christian giving. His presentation to the 2006 Diocesan Conference is here.
You can also find posters and clip art that can be used to encourage people to think about Christian giving in a new way.
In addition, there is a dedicated Parish Accounting page, and some resources to assist in the process of forward planning of parish budgets.
The Resources and Stewardship department are also available to advise and assist
churches in the wider aspect of stewardship, including matters such as the best use of church buildings for mission and ministry, potential sources of grants and funding for all types of church and community projects, making full use of “gift-aid”, and best practice in parish accounting and budgeting. For help and advise on any of these aspects please contact the Parish Resources Advisor.
