Parish Accounting
The links below are to files which provide parishes with a standard format that can be used to enable the parish accounts to be completed simply and in accordance with the Charities Act 1993 and the Church in Wales Accounting Regulations.
Note: As an excepted charity the Church has to comply with the Act insofar as producing Accounts, but is not required by the Act to produce an Annual Report. The Church in Wales regulations do however require a report to be produced and sets out the requirements thereof. The Report in these files complies with those requirements, and with the requirements of the Act and SORP 2000.
There are two main sets of files
- Receipts and payments (for churches with income to £100,000)
- Accruals (for churches with income in excess of £100,000)
Explanatory notes accompany each set of files.
The files have been constructed using spreadsheet software. They may then be copied to your computer, and the figures and variable information can then be typed in and a hard copy of the completed reports produced. There are files for use with MS Works, and also files that have been constructed using MS Excel and Word.
Note that:
- The figures have been arranged to be rounded automatically to whole figures, with commas (allowing for total amounts up to £999,999.
- All casts and cross casts have been programmed to be automatic.
- The places for typing in variable information and figures is blank.
- The page set up is for A4 paper.
